Text Effect Question

I've been searching for a while now and can't seem to find any information on a text effect that seems to be fairly common.

How do you place text behind a person? For example, say I have a person on the left side of the screen and text in the middle, and I want them to walk to the right of the screen on top of the text?

Anyone have a tutorial out there? I am sure there's information on this site I just couldn't find it. Any help is appreciated.

I recently did this with a pole that was in the video, had to put a layer of the video on top of text, and roto scoped the pole. text layer is inbetween the two video layers.

the easiest way is to greenscreen the person into the scene and simpy place them above the text layer. as long as your greenscreen lighting and compositing skills are up to par it should look fine. otherwqise your looking at roto work to mask around the person frame by frame to either stop the text from covering the area inside the mask, or cover the text with the area inside the mask of the duplicated person layer. all said and done the roto will likely look better in the end and would be my choice of ways to do it unless the framing of the shot made greenscreen more photorealistically possible.
