Hey guys, I went to the NY meetings and they were great. I think exhibiting footage should definitely be among the things you guys do. It was very cool to show others your work and get some real world feedback. No matter what you end up doing it is always great to meet people with similar interests. Good luck, hope you get a lot of people.
I agree, I think exhibiting footage is a great idea...but only if there is footage to exhibit.
I also think it would be good to maybe do some presentations on workflow.
I'll be done with my second music video in the next week and would love to share the workflow I'm using and how I plan and prep for music videos.
I already met up with one Houstonian HVX User (jpsheets) from the Texas thread and we checked out his m2 adapter. Perhaps he can give a presentation on it and display it? What do you say Jonathan?
I definitely think some show and tell is indicated, that way everyone will likely leave fired up about an accessory or a new technique. Otherwise it's just a bunch of folks talkin' sh** for a few hours. :2vrolijk_08: Plus it could pave the way for us to collaboratively slap together a 'short' contest entry down the road.
I'm definitely in! In fact I'm probably going to be moving to Austin in early September. I'm up for a meet and greet and talking about next steps, like maybe working on a short film.
I've recently gotten my M2 and I'd be happy to demonstrate it a bit, although I'm still getting used to it.
I hope more people show actual interest and we get this narrowed down. School starts pretty soon for me and it would fit my schedule (though maybe not others) if we got together for the 1st time sooner than later.
Hey all, I just arrived here in Austin about a month ago. Did the meeting already happen? I'm a new member here at dvxuser.com, looking to network with other indy filmmakers in the local area ... since I'm relatively sure that Robert Rodriguez will NOT be answering the door at his studio, no matter how many times I ring the doorbell ;-) .
