Got one of the GoPro HD point of view cameras recently. Did some filming in preparation for a motorcycle doc I am planning.
I really like the GoPro HD. The moving footage on the bike was mostly shot on this little camera in the 720P 60 mode. It achieves a wider view than 1080 mode and looks dramatic. Also, I figured shooting 60 frames instead of 30 might reduce the CMOS jello.
The GoPro is AVCCAM codec, but everything was converted to CineForm NeoScene before editing. This camera needs lots of light and is very grainy indoors. But heck, outdoor motorsports shooting is what it was made for!
As an aside, I just bought an HPX170 which will serve as an "A" camera and look forward to trying this puppy out.
