Testing some lighting setups for effect.

Another local production guy wanted to test some lighting setups and I wanted to see/test some cookies in a test environment. So we spent a couple hours just goofin...

Comments / suggestions / improvements???

It's funny how the mind works.... I sat there thinking why I didn't buy the morning light. Partly because the contrast ratio is too low, but mainly, because you just showed me an establishing shot without the girl where I can see there is no window camera right. There's just a door frame.

But lighting wise, I'd probably like a little higher contrast ratio with a light less yellow shadows and midtones.


The night time works far better imo. The subtle warmth from the left wouldn't damage the shot if it got a tiny bit more power.

Thanks for the comments, The night time shot shown there was with a 85mm, the same scene with a 50 looked very "film noir" because of the cookie casting the stripes on the back wall and a plant in the background
were much more prominant. (Sorry you didn't get to see those shots)
I guess the good thing is we got to do a little testing (which I can't do very often) I think I'm going to be making 4 or 5 cookies from foam core soon, we got to test what shapes worked / looked best (for me)
