Thanks for all the good advice. Today I could test all the settings. shutter 1/425, 150 fps (pal 25).

Vintage Lens Nikkor 50-300 center scan (1080) (not part of the advice)

Slog3cine, sony slog cine 709 Lut

In resolve sharpen (radius 0.47)
Zoomed in 1,6 x

Vintage 50 euro Manfrotto tripod 302 Head.

XQD card filled up with Gigabytes of video (a bit too fast imo).

I know it is just a test, but it looks quite soft and muddy. Are you sure that your lens is good enough? It's a waste of time and effort to go out and shoot if your glass isn't capable of producing crisp images.

Thanks for your comment Doug.

I think you might be right. Even if the image is blown up 1.6 times. I suspect this lens for being soft too. I also miss the crisp sharpness. Now that I think of it even my sony 18-105 lens is significant sharper. I hope to test another lens soon (Tamron 150-600). Maybe my focusing wasn't that good too. And I am not shure what Vimeo did with the images. Though your vimeo link is pretty sharp and crisp.

Would be a pitty, because I really like this 35 year old lens.

Looking at that vid it seems highly compressed leading to lack of sharpness. Centre crop does stress lenses but Ive never had a problem with my 50-300, they were designed to shoot 64ISO vistavision film after all.

I used the standard rendering settings for 'Vimeo' in resolve. I gave it another try without 1,6 zoom.

Here it is:

Ha, ha, Again you are right Doug. This was filmed from a window on the first floor from my house. The lazy way of nature filming i suppose.

I already bought a camouflage jacket and a camouflage net. I only am afraid my neighbors won't appreciate that. I think they will protest also against the cabin I am planning to build there.

So next time maybe it will be macro.
