hi,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WSW4MVEU4Y&feature=youtu.be

here i shot a small test video in a low light situation with a t3i.
I was with a 50mm 1.8 and at 1250 iso i think.

The image is a bit noisy.

I regularly shoot in low light situation, I feel i always have to bump the iso.

If i go over 800 iso, or 1600 i start seeing a bit of noise.

I feel that a lens 3.5-5.6 doesnt give a wide enough aperture for most situation except outside in the sunlight.

Is there a noticeable difference if i switch to a 5d mark ii ?
Do you guys feel the 5d mark ii is not enough for you in low light ? Price wise, the 5d mark ii has a good used price.

The 6d and 5d mark iii worth the extra money for low light or are they quite similar to the mark ii ?

Thanks in advance,

My 6d does better with the same amount of light than my T2i (same image as T3i).
But it's a little difficult to directly compare because the different sized sensor means the field of view is wider even if I use the same lens.
Overall, the video image produced by the 6D is much better. The video image from the 6d is basically the same as the 5d mk ii.
But I almost never use it because the video image of my Blackmagic Pocket camera (that I got new on a weekend sale for $600) with the Metabones BMPCC speedbooster on it DESTROYS the 6d image quality by ten times, and just about matches it's low-light performance too.

If you're looking to stay Canon - then a 6d is the best image for the price.
But if you want the best image for $1,000 then a used Blackmagic Pocket Camera with the Metabones BMPCC speedbooster is simply not beatable.

My advice, take it or leave it.... Take the money you would spend on another camera, and invest in a couple of portable LED lights.
