Testing Batts

Hi,
I rent cams a lot and want to make sure my customers are getting good batts. Is there anyway to test that the batts will last short of running the camera? I don't want to add unnecessary operational hours just to test batts. Basically i want to know that they are in good condition and can take a full charge and discharge.

Way back in my TV news days- we would check our Anton Bauers with a electrician's test meter to make sure they were charged. I'm sure the same method would work with the batteries for the HVX/HPX/HMC/AF, etc.

Thanks for the reply. That would indicate that they are charged, but would it indicate if they would hold that charge and preform correctly. If a batt is worn out and will only run a cam for 30 min is it's initial voltage lower or the same?
