peeps,

Damn, its been awhile since i'd post'd something. Ive been busy wit work filming doing my thing. Anywhooo... check dis out. Last week did some test shooting with an M3 for a mini short film of mine. Its just TEST Footage! Poorly edited no story or anything. Practise filming before i film the real thing so i know wat not to do and do. Here are the TEST results from it...

Used my 16:9 lens, a few 4x4 filters and letterbox selected "on" for the 2.35:1 ratio look. No cropping in post, all natural! Filmed in 24p with some color correction in AE.

I'll post new shiz later. Got a couple of projects coming down da pipe.

Nice car rig ya got there. I gotta say, I really like some of these shots, but then there are some that I really dislike...

The through the brick shot, and then shot where only the front of the car can be seen through the bushes didn't work for me at all. Seemed completely out of place and poorly framed.

I liked the rack focusing and the car rig shots though.

Hard to comment on the color correcting with the compression how it is, but it looks pretty good.

Got any other behind the scenes stills to post?

Good job man

That was NICE! Good stuff. What kind of mattebox is that?

The only shot/action I didn't like, was at :14 sec, when the car suddenly jerks to the left. It doesn't look cool. It looks like he's trying to miss a squirrel. Other than that everything looked real nice. Impressive.

Keep the footage coming.

I shoulda said more info before i posted. Its kinda quicky edit it together... no story or watever. Just test stuff for my personal notes before i shoot the real thing. The car is all over the road for a reason... CG elements are going in there! In the story theres a scene where stuff gets thrown out from a 5 ton truck... Its kinda hard to explain. That "brick shot" is from a metal gate fence and i personal like the bush shot... poorly framed??? Kinda looks crappy on web the i totally agree! When i was outputing looked completely different on TV.

Ye, im also not digging the CC. Was trying to get a muggy feel out of it. Did really work out, plus its nothing final just test crap. I've been trying various CC looks and havent found one yet. However, its the least of my worries...

u could film this commercial with a handycam and it would still be badass because it's an M3. my weapon of choice.

anywho, this looks pretty good, yeah, the CC looks a little like an armor all commercial for some reason. i dont know why though.

Good work overall, i liked the moving shots most of all. First shot was proper but with minor bumps. Seems to me the playback rate on the first shot is unnatural (sped up) hence the bumps. I disliked the third shot, it doesn't seem to flow and feels like a rough cut in general. Seems to me when you pan/track back to back between 2nd and 3rd shot there is some unwanted tension and in conclusion it is unclear to me. Sense of direction is hard to figure out... I enjoyed the effect of the dying light reflecting on yellow car (whatever cc you did it looks properly done).
Also for a quick fix i think it looks well put...

Good job!

Yea, some of those bush shots were like.."what the hell?" kinda shots...those didnt flow but the other stuff was awesome...the CC was good. The car mount was awesome! Did you build that? Who makes it? I might want to invest into a car mount...even though im scared shitless to put my camera on the back of a car...

Like i mentioned above. Its not suppose to flow... I should post the other shots i got on that same day.

As a Wanna-be BMW owner, I loved it too!

where'd you get that car mount? Im wanting to shoot a car scene soon and need a good one.

the front shots of the BMW while driving, did you speed those up or something to make them seem faster? It reminded me a lot of a BMW commercial, where it just looks damn fast

yeee that car mount is maddd sexxxyyy...im gonna print that picture out and tape it to my desk....muuahhahha

C'mom, man. Everyone is asking about the car mount. You gotta tell us. I am very impressed by the footage. I love seeing the dvx in fast moving action!

I watched it without reading your description and I thought it was a demo commercial spot for BMW (for fun)...

I was impressed with it then, and knowing that it is a quick job, I'm more impressed.

Can't wait to see the final stuff.
