Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

I still like the show. I just look at it as a parallel universe story that has nothing to do with the original films, like its some kind of quantum permutation of the Terminator saga. Just taken on its own terms it's enjoyable tv.

It's probably one of the best TV shows out there right now. I can't really think of anything I've enjoyed lately. I think the show is a lot of tongue in cheek fun.

Well, it's true I don't watch a lot of tv (none actually, any of these shows I've seen I watched on DVD or hulu.com), but I can tell you I think the writing for 30 Rock, The Office, and LOST are all vastly superior to anything you see on this show. Not to mention the great stuff that's on HBO, like Big Love and Entourage. watch any of those shows if you haven't.

sry for the interruption, lets all try to get back to flaming my ultra controversial statements! ;)

Well, I don't like comedy TV shows. They bug the crap out of me. Lost feels like a giant gimmick, and I don't consider the stuff on HBO in the same league considering vastly superior budgets and talents that come along with HBO. I think there is some great film-making here like in the last episode of s1. I just think it's unique and they have some good ideas but have a hard time executing it sometimes. Although, I agree stuff like the unit or 24 is sometimes better.

But this is coming from the guy that just finished all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1. I like crap.

ah, I see ;)

But seriously, if you know you just don't like comedies, then I can see why you wouldn't be interested in 30 Rock, even if I think it's the best comedy series out there right now. However, i personally don't think of the Office as a comedy. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure how I could defend the argument, but I think of it as a drama, not a comedy. Or I guess I think of it as an ongoing documentary, like it claims to be (although fictitious), just chronically the events in this single office, funny things happen, like in life, but sad things happen too. As due cruel things, and disturbing things. Very good show.

And while I had no interest in LOST on TV, I finally decided to give it a try on dvd a few months ago, and I was fairly blown away. I will saw though that watching one episode a week would be painfull and frustrating. I know I would just get pissed and blow it off. But on DVD it shines. I love the mystery and bread crumbs of little discoveries, but I have to move through it at my own pace, one bread crumb a week would be retarded.

But, if you like crap, then disregard these comments, Terminator is right up your ally :)

Why has no one flamed me yet?!?!?!? :D

I just find it amazing that the Connors manage to move into a nice, BIG, nicely furnished house -- with NO job and NO visible source of income. Guess they just 'seem nice'.

I also love how Sarah Connor can sneak around unauthorized areas of a nuclear power plant undetected. Did they never hear of security cameras???

OH! And it was fun when Cameron went walking out the back door of the house in broad daylight with an automatic weapon in her hands. Hope the neighbors weren't out grilling on the deck!

What was the point of sabotaging the nuke plant? The near-catastrophe gave them an opportunity to get robotic control of the plant (via their new technology), but how could the machines of the future have known or predicted that Cameron would be there to prevent a complete meltdown? How could they risk killing thousands of people in one fell swoop without it causing major changes to the future? I didn't quite follow that.

I didn't like the episode at all. It was to many different ideas in the ep. Here I am defending the show and this **** episode comes out.

I have to be honest with y'all--I didn't watch the entire episode Monday night, I'd had a bad day at work and I just wasn't feeling a good vibe from it.

You know, I've been maybe the only person in this thread defending the idea of John going to school, but I think this ep cured me of it. "Hey, John, you've just had a really sh*tty day, you look like hell--why don't you go to school?" Frickin' ridiculous.

in a way, I feel like I've kinda turned with this show. :) I think maybe this is one of those so bad it's good kinda things... or maybe not, but I find myself watching each episode anyway when they pop up on Hulu.com.

there's something compelling about watching a show, with the intent to find all the stupid ridiculous holes in it.

No doubt about it, I have no respect for this show. It's stupid, unattractive, and harms the legacy of the (well at least the first two) feature films. But I think it would actually be less interesting if it was a franchise I didn't like. There's actually something compelling about watching someone fumble through the concepts and stories from a franchise that's apparently just too smart for them.

The writers here are just out of their league with this material. It's pretentious.

SO many great American TV dramas out there I can hardly keep up!

Heroes, Desparate Housewives, Smallville, Prison Break, and now The Sarah Connor Chronicles-I wish I had Sky One!! So much quality! You guys make British Tv look bad! Lol.

Well, Doctor Who is very popular over here. Some people like Torchwood, too, but I think it's just a poor copy of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I guess I'm a spoiled american who doesn't appreciate what he has lol.

Have you guys seen the few shows I personally do like? Lost, 30 Rock, West Wing, just about anything on HBO (Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Entourage)?

Also, what do you guys think of the American "Office". I personally like it way more than the British one, but I think you more often hear the opposite here in the state.

It's hard for me to understand british shows. I don't have a sense of humour so really.. it's worse for me to watch them.
