Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles

At first when I saw this advertised I thought it would be a complete waste of time but the more I read about it and think about the more I really want to see it. I didn't catch it tonight but hope to soon.

Yeah, it had major potential of being cheesy. But I'm glad to say it's cheese free.

They had one line that was cheesy funny ("Class dismissed"), but it worked, and after all, it's terminator. It wouldn't be terminator without at least one cheesy line.

Seems like they're going to keep changing the terminators. I like that. In T1 I think Resse mentions to Sarah that there were several terminators, first they had rubber skin, but then they got more real. So it would only make sense that they often look different.

I like the new terminator helping them out. I just wonder how exactly she's different. She clearly acts more human, mimics emotions (or does she have real ones?), etc... but I wonder if she's going to be John's love interest? I got that feeling from this episode.

It was enjoyable. Not as great as a film, certainly not as bad as T3.

Plus, Summer is frickin hot.

It'll be a good series. (Plus, new episodes as opposed to the rest of TV. Damn writers.)

It was tonight. Another new eps. tomorrow night. I just checked and FOX isnt smart enough to put the eps. online.

Every season there is a series or two that I never watch simply because I wanted to, but I missed the first couple eps.

What did you miss? Everything. You're behind. Guns and robots and chases and Summer Glau. A naked Summer Glau.

It was on while I was working. It didn't hold my attention enough to keep me from working so I'm not sure I'll bother tomorrow.

This show was pretty good. If you're a total Terminator geek you might be disappointed, because not everything is perfect. But if you just accept the basic Terminator premise - two terminators come back - one to protect, one to destroy, you should enjoy yourself. I don't think there's any question that they're going to play up the sexual chemistry between him and the Terminator-girl, and it's going to be weird. But I think it may work. I liked the little twist at the end of the first ep.

I thought it was pretty sucky, but watchable. It seemed like a bad mid-season episode where everything is formulaic and just biding time to the finale, rather than a great pilot. In particular, I thought the makeup SUCKED. Pieces of tinfoil glued to any fake wound on the Terminator's face, even in places where there was no metal infrastructure underneath.

Also, I found the fights and escapes pretty unrealistic. Maybe my memory is wrong, but I don't remember the movie Terminators ever pausing for ten seconds before shooting when they finally had their targets in sight. This one was quick to shoot everything else around without aiming, but always paused with the kid in his sights long enough for something to get him. A very long time in a few cases.

But, heck, what else is (or ever will be) on?

The other best show on TV:

American Gladiators

After reading this I watched again as I couldnt remember a twist the first time. On second viewing, I still missed the twist.

Wutchu talkin bout, Willis?

I think that will be what ruins it. Why does everything have to be about sex just because you have a hot chick. And I also think that is exactly what they were alluding to (not so subtley) when she said she was different.

I realize they need the romantic possibility to keep writing options open, but I think it would work just as well if he falls for her, since she's a hot chick, but the tension comes from the fact that she's just a robot that doesn't crave salami - or need/care about love. That's where the tension comes from, not from some crazy man/robot sex thing.

But if it will get her naked, I'm all for it.

As soon as the chick got shot, I knew she was a Terminator. It was a bit obvious. As the show progressed, I thought to myself, "OK, this is a bit cliche." But as it went on, I started to change my opinion of it. Now I think it has some potential. I'll DVR it and watch the episodes...

And I agree. If the chick robot doesn't have feelings for John, but he falls for her, I think that would be some great writing.

Wasn't she naked like 5 times already in the first episode? Don't need a sexual subplot for that, apparently.

I though this was pretty decent as pilot episode's go. It's already 10 times better than Bionic Woman. Started off kind of uninspired but got more interesting as it went along, especially the climactic twist in the bank vault. And Summer's cute and all but Lena Headley is a WO-MAN.

Twist. You keep using that word. I do not think it means, what you think it means.

It was as much a "twist" as John jumping through the class window.

Exactly.

You can have sexy without having a toaster fall in love with a guy. (Guys are stupid enough to fall in love with a hot toaster; the toaster, however nice it's breasts, should remain indifferent to the guy.)

You're right, I was wrong.

"As soon as John Connor's mom ran into the library to get him, I knew it was his mom, Sarah Connor. It was obvious."

"As soon as the teacher reached into his leg, pulled a gun out of it and shot at John Connor, I knew he was a terminator. It was obvious."
