Tennessee Fall

the disjecta for leaves... but I find birds more interesting.

Still, pretty pictures. Where did you get that score?

Disjecta for leaves...Now that's Funny!

Thanks for the replies.

No Adapter, just plain DVX100a, very little CC, just a touch of contrast and less saturation.
I am however, looking into the letus35 as an option. (hint hint, make me a tester) :)
The score was indeed Cristofori's Dream.

BTW Lloyd, the birds have all flown south for the winter...

a2z, - I'm from Nashville and you're making more homesick than usual! It's a tough call as to what's prettier - southern springtime or fall. So what bike trails were you on? Percy Warner?(Technically you're not supposed to bike on the nature trails, I know, but there was still alot of traffic I know.) Hamilton Creek? - I'm guessing it may be these given there were no wide shots and I know that area doesn't really provide any good panoramas.

Good stuff. I'll be in Nashville over Thanksgiving and your film made me look forward to the trip all the more.

Wow. I really enjoyed this. Wonderful color saturation, and some interesting compositions. The music also fit well. Great job.

I think you are the Tennessee Leaf Twin of Disjecta. Absolutely gorgeous...and the music was wonderfully matched. Would like to see you do a video to help save the Alaskan Wildlife Reserve from oil production..with that music and your talent..hell, even the head of Exxon would'nt want to drill there anymore.

Nice job.

Prof.D.

Very nice . I haven't been to Tennessee in many years . I always wanted to do another motorcycle trip to the Smokey Mountains in the Fall . Just might have to plan another trip .

Thanks again for all the great comments. I hope to someday actually add "live people"
to my compositions...we'll see.

I agree, Tennessee is visually poetic this time of year. I wish I would have had time to
capture some wide shots here and there, but I just took the camera out one day for 45 min.
and hit the mountain biking trails. Between dodging bikers and herds of deer, and being
inside some pretty thick woods, I really had no panoramic landscape to work with. Oh well,
that's what tomorrows for... Adrian

BTW Dustino, it's Lock 4 in Gallatin, on Old Hickory Lake. It's like an island of bike trails.

Holy crap! I grew up in Hendersonville - I've biked those trails many, many times. I remember when they blazed those trails for biking. The guy I bought my first mtn. bike from (David Hardin @ Biker's Choice bike shop in H'ville) helped develop those trails, I believe. Surprised you didn't get any lake shots in there, though your short looks great. Small world...

Serene and soothing. Super composition. And refreshing.

Can you tell us about the time of day you shot this? Looks like you were mostly in the shade or under cloud cover with little to no sun. Would that be a correct assumption?

Also, care to elaborate on your scene file and other camera settings for this shoot?

I grew up in nashville tennessee, went to school at hume fogg downtown, moved to greeneville at 17.

nice colors and great music.

i was just up there last weekend the colors were amazing, I got some wonderful stock footage on my cam as well. living in florida now, its amazing the transformation that takes places in the mountains as compared to here.

here things just die and are gone. tn has a real transformation.

again, great vid

OK, for scene settings and time of day:
About 3:30 PM, (it gets dark here about 4:30) But I believe I could have shot it at
high noon and Still been in the shade, as Dustino can verify. It's pretty thick & tall woods.

Settings:
F6 24PA, (Dijecta's recommended Chroma level +5, Master Ped -5. This will create a pretty
Redish image in the LCD, but in AP Pro 1.5, It really responded to adding contrast & subtracting saturation, leaving you with what you see in the film.
Gamma was B. PRESS (I wanted it to be moody), Matrix NORM, Detail Freq THIN
ND filter at 1/8 & it seems that most of the shots were exposed at F3.4. That's It!

Sorry to be so lengthy, & these settings have NOT been tested on SKIN! That's next...
But they work Great on on a LEAF :)

P.S. Dustino; I also grew up in Hendersonville...small world for real. And...no lake shots!
You should know what Old Hickory looks like this time of year, Brown & Mossy! Yuck!!!
stay in touch.........
