hi... i am a fcp user but some how i'm not sastify with this garbage......because i can't put different frame rate in the same timeline ( 60i and 24pa) or i can't really manipulate the framerate.....
my questions is, in premiere pro is there away to put different frame rate in the same timeline or is there a way to manipulate framerate so that can be put in the same timeline.

how is the workflow between pp, ae ps are they intergrated ....
i like to use ps and AE....
thanks yia

here is a simple question for yall primere and after effect user.........

is there a way to manipulate frame rate in premier and after effect......
something like shot 60i throw in 24 timeline for smooth slow motion....
or accidently shot in 24p wanna convert to 60i for better smooth slow motion...
shot in 60i covert to 24p.....

Two words: After Effect. What you're asking for simply isn't what these softwares are designed to do. Converting one frame rate to the other requires complex frame interpolation, best accomplished in AE. Premiere might have a leg up on FCP because you can just drop a project file into AE and work from there without rendering and vice versa, but otherwise it's not going to help you much. I wouldn't switch NLE just because of this because the learning curve between one NLE to another is often quite high. Of course this depends on how familiar you are with FCP.

Once you shot progressive, there's no going back, the extra motion information just isn't there for you to go back to 60i. For slow motion you might consider dropping a few hundred dollars for the Twixtor plug in for AE. But it has a long learning curve and requires a lot of experimentation.

in premiere u can put 24p and 60i in the same timeline.....

it should work the same in fcp make sure u put everyrhing in a 29 timeline and u'll be fine.. unless your final output is to FILM TRANSFER then u need 24 only.

i have mixed framerates (60i, 30p/24p) all in the same timeline... compatibility wise it works fine.. i've had some issues with "strobing" but tha'ts expected ... "frame blend" sometimes helps and sometimes hinders this but the short answer is yes, it's totally doable pretty transparently

thanks for the help..... I decided to go with adobe suite......because i like what AE and photoshop can do...plus integrated in adobe suite make everything easier.....i hope...
