Technical Problem with DVX100A

Hello, how is everyone doing? I'm having a technical problem with my DVX100A. I've had it for a little over a year and half now with no problems. Last night I was shooting a friends bands performance from the stage and everything went smoothly, at no point was the camera dropped or bumped or anything like that. Whenever I was done shooting it went immediatly back into its hard case and put off to the side. This morning it was still working fine, however about 1/2 an hour ago I went to take the tape out and the camera will not power up. I've tried 2 different batteries and the wall plug but it won't take any power, won't even let me take the tape out. The furtherest I've gotten is the power light will blink on and then immediatly back off. I've tried charging both batteries but still the same thing happens :( any suggestions? I have a feeling this is going to end up costing me a bundle :( Thanks!

This sounds very similar to what happened to our DVC15.
We got out on a job and it wouldn't power up. We are going to try and get it fixed at some point, but the DVX100s are doing the job well ATM.
Yours sounds a little more hopeful than ours was though, if you get a light flash on - ours was completely dead.
I'm afraid I dont have any real advice, other than take it to a service centre.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a manual eject screw on the DVX100, so you'll have to take the camera in to extract the tape anyway.
After this, I got really picky about leaving tapes in the camera. Now I always take the tape out before I pack up.

Well, it randomly started working again, but now its back to not working :( Can anyone recommend a good repair shop to me? Because one time when the tripod holder on the bottom broke a repair shop wanted $80 an hour with a minimum of three hours to fix it, good only knows how much a repair like this would cost...
