Technical advantage HVX for costumer

Hey guys,

Tomorrow I have my first big meeting with a company for my first real job with my HVX200. The job is filming some promotional material for them. I was wondering what kind of advantages of the HVX you guys bring forward in such a meeting. Especially in delivering the end product?

Niels,
Personally, I find that clients/potential clients are more interested in what I am capable of doing as opposed to my cameras. If I can not produce, direct, write or edit a quality finished product that meets the clients needs and deadlines than they are not going to be interested in hiring me. Therefore, the equipment I use seldom becomes part of the conversation. This of course changes if they start asking questions about formats, etc. At that point a brief discussion about the latest tecdhnology, improved color space and workflow can be had. But for the most part that information is pretty much over the clients head.

While it's wonderful to have a tool like the HVX in the toolbox it's what YOU can do with it that really counts.

Just my two cents. Good luck with your pitch.

You are absolutely right Jim and I think I am capable to do that (have to believe in yourself :)). It was more that I was wondering about using the HVX as a unique selling point in this meeting next to convincing them of my capablities. Thanx for the good luck!

You can tell them end product can be delivered in HD-DVD in a close future (since it is promotional material i assume end product will be delivered on DVD) .Dont forget to add your storage cost since you will have to store all your original content in case you want to author HD-DVD sometime in the future...

Well.. other than 24p and all the cinematic look stuff, you have those framerates that may be of use dependong on what you are shooting. You have much better color psace to work with which will allow you to make thier shots really pop and stand out, and make for much cleaner greeenscreen work if you are up against that.
Then there's the workflow beenfits, everything from faster instant relplay on set for them to review takes, but also faster movement into editing, saving them on editing time (=money).
