Teaser Trailer - Where the Dogs Divide Her

Hi,

A short teaser trailer for our upcoming feature is available to watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAIcwpMNiRM

Not a fully fledged trailer as such - no post sound/adr/foley etc - just a little something to let people know what we're doing.

it (clearly) wasn't shot on a dvx of any kind - hope this isn't breaking any rules in here!

Check it out if you've got that time - preferably in HD

Thanks.

Some great imagery and an interesting aesthetic at work here.
As for the teaser itself, it's a bit heavy on cheesy video transitions, which undercut the more refined aesthetic of the content. IMHO of course.

I wouldn't say cheesy necessarily, but when I lose interest in the content because I'm waiting for the next twitch driven fx transition, I'd say it's overdone.

But that's just me, I look for that kind of thing when I see trailers.

The content looks very interesting, and if the aesthetic inside the film is constantly twitching like that, then perhaps it is appropriate. If not, then I would cut down on the fx and focus more on actual moments in the film's story, characters, etc.

Just my opinion, after all.

Thanks for the comments, you've been a great help in making my nind up about a few things. The effects are a part of the overall asthetic (and a part of the world in which the film itself exists), but, as you said, I don't want that to distract from the story/characters etc.

Thanks again.

Cheers. This little teaser trailer was the easy part - I'm currently in the midst of post production, and I don't think I've ever spent as much time in my whole life infront of a monitor screen before! Producing a feature really does take over your entire life, everything is coming second to this fetaure right now. You've gotta be committed in this game, and believe in what you're doing, otherwise you'll never reach the finishing line.
