teaser from our short, Justice AF100 CineD

not bad,

some really great harmonious and mood-appropriate color wowsas looks glorious

a few wonky wierd composition things going on:

010: great foreground framing but blocking the subject for so long feels wierd, esp as an intro to him- also that odd sculpture adds a quirkiness that isnt story appropriate really--- nothing else that quirky in the whole visual story you got going on

013: figure is walking INTO the form (concrete pole) below....it smashes UP into his face. does this matter? hmm...yes to folks that are visually trained/sensitive like me or anyone youd likely want to impress.... looks odd, seems to project some meaning that isnt there.

039: i wouldve framed out that fiddly bit of the ear- but hey

thi s is kind of subjective, but I think way too many eye level shots-- you shot a noirish story and didnt take the opportunity to do more wierd low angles? I guess I can see you wanted something understated, but...

clearly some high level cinematography as far as color and light, but the composition is short of great

hope I didnt rustle feathers but youre clearly playing on a big boys playing field with your work so.. there it is

Thanks for taking the time time to comment. I appreciate it. It's very helpful. The sculpture was a director's choice. It is odd. The world and the rest of it are ambiguously kind of post industrial degraded. I thought the locations were pretty great.

Great stuff, Scully!

I want to know how the locations play into the psychology of it all...

Where is the film in the post process- near completion?

It's just more evidence that the Af100 is one great little camera. I did sell mine last week and I already miss it. But it's on it's way to a new user that will give it the love and enjoy it.

Thanks. We're about to lock picture, working on a grade. The director likes it less saturated, higher contrast than I did here... almost like a bleach bypass, so we're messing with that. We'll see.

The locations were an inspiration. The story is from Aristotle's Poetics, a dialectic on Justice. The world being somehow a present that never grew past industrial, with all the decay, is part of the emotional life of it. I just love all the depth! I had been shooting in cafe's and NYC apartments!

Can you work The Decline of Western Civ into it?

Love your grade, though I'd be curious to see the director's just as a comparison.

Good luck!!!
