Teaser for my new feature The Awakened

Boy I love horror / thriller movies! Looks interesting so far....

When do you expect it to completed, what plans do you have for it, and how did you find working with the F3 on this?

Thanks
My schedule for picture lock is the middle of december. Then it goes for original music score and sound design.
I did not produce it is up to the producers after that. I directed,DP I am currently editing.
The original plan was to send it to festivals first to see who will pick it up, but today I have a meeting with the producers and I'll try to convinced them to take it to the buyers directly.
The idea is fresh and very solid for the market.
The F3 with 18-85mm RED made it work with the budget we had for location, actors and time. It was all filmed in 10, 12 hour days. The camera is amazing in low light. Some of the most frightening takes were done with either one candle or a cell phone light. Do that with film!

Were there rehearsals and such? With the RED lens were there any zooms used any of the shots? I wonder how smooth the zoom might have went.

What was your "method" for getting exposure on the F3 normally?

Yes we did "Not always useful.

I used it mostly as variable prime, but you I did used it for the last take.

You really need a zoom motor or at minimum a lever to do a zoom. I don't like to use the zoom anyway.

We shot almost everything at f2.8 to 5.6 interiors. I used the meter to mostly to get my ratios and then it was all by monitors.

Thanks for your post, it always intriques me the process, and many many many options in getting there to the end. It is definitely a lot more work then some people imagine. Can't wait to see more of it...

Hey Douglas, congrats on your new teaser.

If you don't mind... I would think about changing a few things. I don't think that all the written info is necessary. Actually, I felt it said to much. Maybe with some of the voices and the fire on screen it's enough. If you still think that leaving that info, I would recommend changing the font you are using. It doesn't melt with the background and it feels artificial. You want to catch the spectator and put him into what you are showing right away, and that kinda left me out.

I hope it helps, congrats again.
