Tearjerkers...

Plus, the end of "Saving Private Ryan" when the older Ryan salutes Capt. Miller's grave... powerful

I thought that was too scripted for me, but the "earn this" line was a lot more effective for me!

and i found another one that i find myself a little teary eyed at is "The Godfather Part III" when Mary gets shot ( i still think Sofia Coppola almost ruined the trilogy with her performance in the movie). Pacino and Keaton make that scene really work.

"Dad?"

I thought Pacino and Keaton did a great job with this scene, but I didn't care about the victim so it did nothing for me. I was happy to see her go and finally be off screen.

the first time i saw "The Notebook" i admit that i cried at the end. Old Yeller is a given and i think that was the only other one that i cried at.... no wait one more "Million Dollar Baby" ok that's my list.

I really liked Million Dollar Baby. Great work by Eastwood again. I got emotion but didn't cry because I had prepared myself for it way earlier in the film when she tells the story about the dog. I thought it was handled brilliantly and can clearly see why this would be an amazing tear jerker! Just a gorgeous movie!

Not a theatrical release but....

BILL

Starring Mickey Rooney; I was in 7th Grade. Messed me up like a little girl.

Good God, I am right with ya. Even when he was just learning how to make a freaking pot of coffee.

Sling Blade

I don't know how he did it, but Billy Bob scored right out of the gate. Funny how he really hasn't since.

The last scene with the boy, when you know what he has to do... goddamn powerful.
It's such a small scene but it gets me every time.

Interesting choice!!! Didn't choke me up, but it was an awesome scene!

Yeah Billy Bob's been kinda hit or miss for me since Sling Blade... mostly miss.

I've mentioned this before (in this very thread) but right now on AMC Field of Dreams is ending (James Earl Jones is delivering his monologue) and I am sitting here with tears going because of it.

Three minute warning to hear the 'Dad you wanna have a catch' line... Great movie...

Glory by far - colonel leading a charge up a hill. One of the best movies ever made.

- Something for Joey
- Rudy
- Life as a house
- Joy luck club (i know gay)

Totally! The whole end sequence with Burt Lancaster, the JEJ monologue... just gets you. A great movie.

Listening to Kate Bush on the way in to work today made me remember: "She's Having A Baby".

Maybe it was just the contrast with everything that went on during the rest of the movie, but the ending got to me.

Of course, the credits sequences helped me to return to my normal, jovial self. :)

Million Dollar Baby hands down. Did not see it coming at all. Great movie.
My first independent that I worked on was a film with Mickey Rooney and he talked all about making "Bill" and how great Helen Hunt was.
The name of the film is "Making Waves" it made me cry because of how bad it turned out.

Ok. I think I got one: Deep Impact by Mimi Leader

Just finished wathing it for the FIRST time... It got me good... I think I was crying for the last 0.5h of the movie... Definetly it is taking the lead in my own ranking taking Patriot by Emmerich off the podium :)

Mine would have to be Johnny Cash's last music video of the NIN song "Hurt."

Chokes me up every time I hear the song. If I watch the video, I'm done for.

Oh yeah, as a kid I thought Herbie was a real tearjerker...that part where he tries to drive off the bridge...jeez. I'm gonna go give my VW a tune-up now...

I know this may sound stupid, but I got really teary eyed on the original King Kong. The scene where he's shot to death and all you hear is his heart beat. I don't know why, but it really got to me. To make it worse, my sister comes up and gives me a hug and asks me if I'll be allright?!!!!!!!!

TRY WATCHING GREYSTOKE TARZAN WHEN THEY SHOOT HIS MOMMA OR WAS IT HIS BROTHER OUT OF THE TREE:cry:

I've followed this thread for a while now

and

I just scanned through it again...

But I don't think anyone mentioned Band of Brothers.
Specifically the final episode, when the actual Easy Company guys
are drawing the series to closure verbally. Granted, their
memories were shared with we viewers before each episode...

but during the finale, their identities were made known. That
really hit me like a ton o' proverbial bricks, brought all they
experienced home in one fatal swoop and made it all the more
real.

I poo pooing cried like a baby.

Then the clincher...when the real Capt. Winters said,
"My grandson asked me if I was a hero during the war..."
(He gets choked up, then continues)
"...and I said, 'no, but I served in the company of heroes.' "

My God I even had trouble just typing those words.

Needless to say I lost it at that point.

Many movies have gotten to me over the years, even King Kong made me sad the other night, I knew what was going to happen but I was pulling for the big anamated ape all the way.
