I needa Kleenex.

It's the scene were they come out of reentry blackout and everyone stands up and cheers. I've getting shivers just typing this.

I just read through this whole thread and no one mentioned the one film that no matter how many times I see it I ball like a little girl who just got the spanking of her life.

Field of Dreams

The moment Costner turns to his father and says "Dad, you wanna have a catch"

OK, I need to call my father and tell him I was thinking about him now.

I didn't want to have it on BOTH my heartwarming movies and tear jerking movies.

But I do agree with you. Chokes me up too.

Well it was on my best baseball film, but it is also the one golden rule... This is gonna make me ball...

The only other thing was the series finale of Six Feet Under. That hit me like a train and I wasn't ready for it.

You know which baseball movie really gets me, Mr. Baseball....mmmmm, Tom Sellek. But I do love Field of Dreams though (helps being from Iowa I guess, but I have NEVER been to Field of Dreams though).

Its so funny that you say that because I SOBBED uncontrolably at the series finale of SFU. As soon as she put the cd in it started (I love that song). That was one of the most astounding 75 minutes of tv I have ever seen. Just brilliant!
I miss the Fishers.

There was actually a 20/20 special about the Field of Dreams. The field covers two people's property and they each own part of the Field. They fight constantly, they each have their own memorbelia stand, and they have each sued one another. The second house was either removed from the shots or digitally edited out (can't remember).

The field is still there though. One of these days I will see all the baseball parks in the country. One of these days I will see the Field of Dreams.

Dude. I was beyond sobbing, I was balling. Eyes red, tears flowing. Nothing has ever hit me the way that the last 10 minutes of that show did. Just to see everyone age and what happens, and the way it was cut together. The most brilliant season finale of all time in my opinion (yes it beats out the wedding of Donna & David at the end of 90210). I completely lost it. There was just something about that montage (now that Team America song is in my head) that knocked me out. I wasn't right for about two hours after that episode. I was calling friends to tell them I love them and just losing my mind.

Recent tearjerker film:
The Last Castle

Earliest tearjerker film I could remember:
The Fox and the Hound

Yeah I know what you mean. It took a few days to recover from that one. It was so unexpected. It just...happened, you know. One minute I was like awwww...then blubbering. True testament to how freaking amazing it was. i watched it again the next night with my wife and ran out of the room crying again. Silly me.

"Bridges of Madison County" - A movie about regret and missed opportunities. When Clint Eastwood is standing in the rain. I'm secure in my sexuality, but I admit, I would have gotten out of that truck and run to him. ...And we would have made beautiful videos for National Geographic. :)

"My Life" - A sappy movie with Michael Keaton and Nicole Kidman. That is the only movie where I cried in the theater. You can see the ending coming from a mile away, but it still hits you hard.

Some that have already been mentioned:
"Forrest Gump" and "Braveheart"

WARNING: Don't operate heavy machinery after viewing any of the above films.

You outdrew me on this one, my man...was just about to add it to the thread. My popcorn was extra salty from the tears as well.

Another worth mentioning is Saving Private Ryan (which turns up in every film discussion it seems). The "EARN THIS" line get me each and every damn time.

For me it is the overcoming obstacles not sadness that gets me.....
Rudy
Mr. Holland's Opus
Oh, and I cried at the end of Pay it Forward but I was hungover....

the first time i saw "The Notebook" i admit that i cried at the end. Old Yeller is a given and i think that was the only other one that i cried at.... no wait one more "Million Dollar Baby" ok that's my list.

and i found another one that i find myself a little teary eyed at is "The Godfather Part III" when Mary gets shot ( i still think Sofia Coppola almost ruined the trilogy with her performance in the movie). Pacino and Keaton make that scene really work.
