TC syncing 2 100A's, some issues....

Hey guys i have 2 dvx100A's im trying to sync the TC, i have barrys book and its states how to set them up to sync them with 1 remote method. When i set both camera's 2 rec run and set both preset TC's to matchign presets, whether it be 00:00:00;00 or 00:00:10;00 and then go into the record menu for both camera;s with the 1 remote and switch them over to freerun they are both running at seperate TC's. One always starts free run at like 18:xx:xx;xx and the other starts at some other TC?

Whats the problem here. for live shoots id like them to run on free run so if they start and stop rec they will still sync up.

Do you have the remote far enough from both cameras so that the beam spreads out wide enough to hit both at the same time?
 
WEll obviously thats working as it controls both the camera's at once, that's not my issue, if i set the preset TC then why do they start free running different?
 
I got it working... For some reason if both cameras where set the "rec run" and had same presets when i switched both over to "free run" together they were off everytime. So i switched them to free run and then re set each preset to match and they were in sync? The way barry says to do it is not working for some reason but my ways works... Hmmm dont know whats going wrong if both are set to the same preset TC then when switched over they should run the same i shouldnt have to go in and reset each AGAIN?
