"TBC" - Short film shot on AF100 (There's a hot gal in it)

This was shot 85% on the AF100 and 15% on the Canon 7D. It shouldn't even have been that high on the 7D but one day we had a problem with dust on the sensor and had to shoot a scene with the 7D while a second AF-100 was secured. Let me know your thoughts. Overall I was pleased with the AF100. I was somewhat forced to use it for this shoot, but now I'm a huge believer in this camera particularly with the right glass.

Great film. I really enjoyed it. You had strong visuals, good sound recording and design, a natural performance from the actors, and a simple story written in a way that kept me interested for the duration. Also, I like films like this that are just a slice in time. You didn't burden us too much with a long winded backstory, but allowed it to play out naturally. Good work!

Thanks, I was fortunate to work with a good team of people who helped this come together. The writer I worked with is just next level brilliant and really easy to work with. Also, the original sound was pretty horrible. Much of this was shot near roads and highways, but our sound designer was able to noise reduce 90-95% of it. I thought we were really screwed but she saved the day.

Loved it!!! Good job.

Thanks!

hmmm, fembots seem to be more and more useful lately,

but do they have a time of the month where they leak oil and have emotion malfunctions?

too much, i know. sorry.

Right on! Chapman students are producing some sweet work. I think your actress is a find!

Thanks, yea there are some people doing some good working coming out of Chapman. I've learned a ton from my colleagues.

Really nice! Thanks for sharing it
Thanks for watching :)

Hahaha...hadn't thought about that...but something to consider for the feature we're working on....

Well directed, well acted.

Great art direction. Nice on the locations and sound design.

You know, about a minute into it, I didn't care about what it was shot on.

Spoiler Alert!

As an aside, I loved the nuanced smile he gave her after she turned and prepared to face her fate. Kevin Spacey has said that acting is about choices not performance; I appreciated a lot of the choices these two made and the director's effort to create a comfortable environment for those choices.

Good picture!

Thanks! I had a great time working with that actor. We did a lot of prep with character work, but on the set he brought so much to the table that I hadn't even considered. For instance, his bottom of the ninth monologue in the 1st minute was complete improv. I got an idea before the take and shouted out to him "hey, call it out like you're an announcer while you hit rocks". What he did after that was just really magical to watch.

The comments on this forum and other feedback have really inspired me to send this to some big festivals. I'm even thinking of sending it to the student film section of Cannes! A stretch I know...but might as well give it a shot!

Haha, I wouldn't be surprised if they already had a patent...

About the actress, she actually has a small role on the HBO show Luck that has just come out. She has a fantastic presence...
