GH3 Tascam DR60D Dual mono output to camera not working

Just received my 60D and I tried using the camera output from the DR60 to feed the mic input on the GH3.
I only get a signal on the GH3 when the output mode on the 60D is set to stereo.
I want to be able to use the feature that records one channel at a lower volume than the other for overload protection.
When I change to dual mono or dual stereo, no signal on the GH3.
I am using a stereo 3.5mm cable to go from the 60D to the GH3.

Am I missing something? Is there another setting on the 60D that I have overlooked to be able to use this feature?
Has anyone used this feature successfully to record directly to the GH3?

Thanks

The dual recording is on the 60D's sd card not to the camera. Also if you use the line out of the 60D to mic in of the camera you will get a cleaner audio feed. Just make sure to lower the mic in level on the camera.

Btw. Been loving the 60D. Just annoyed that syncing with non cameras still need to move audio back 2 frames.

mdifilm, thanks for responding. So, if I wanted to use 3 mics for my recording, I would need to put the 60D in 4 channel mode, but then I could not send that signal
directly to the GH3 via the camera out on the 60D and mic in on the GH3?

What about using the slate function? If I have a 3.5mm cable plugged into the GH3, this turns off the internal camera mic, so there is no camera audio to sync to.
Would there then only be the sync tone on the GH3 audio tracks, and no other audio at all?
It would seem that the camera out feature on the 60D is somewhat limited?

Hi Mmaller, put the DR-60D (i have to write this way or I would get confused with the Canon 60D) in 4 channel mode, and send the signal out to the GH3 (as reference for synching, if you want a better audio feed into the camera, instead of using the camera out, use the line out). The Slate will work and should go to the camera (I've tested it). Once you have the mic in plugged to your DR-60D then you are correct, the internal mic should be turned off and you should have the external mic sound recorded to yrou GH3. At the same time, make sure you have the DR-60D in record mode so you have better audio source that is recorded to the field recorder. (remember to put an SDcard into the field recorder too) :)

Go and watch this video: http://www.dslrfilmnoob.com/2013/04/22/tascam-dr-60d-review-video/ it will help.
