SOLD Tascam DR 680 MKII Digital Multirack Recorder

[DNN]

This recorder is in new condition in function and cosmetically. Display is clear and unscratched. I was surprised at how quiet the pre's were with this. Aside from my Sound Devices Mixpre, this is the quietest recorder that I've owned and it also has decent analog limiters. I bought this because it's so much easier to use than the compact 70D which forces you to wade through menus to make basic changes. This recorder is covered with dedicated buttons. It can also run all day on a relatively cheap external 12v USB battery. I don't use bagable recorders that often but this is one that I'd keep if I didn't need a recorder with timecode. Includes box with all of the original accessories (strap, AC adapter, power adapters, instruction book). Asking $490 shipped and I'll throw in a Camrade Sound Devices bag which is worth $160 by itself.

Tascam DR 680 Mkii with box and accessories. This is the newer improved 680 digital recorder with significantly improved pre's, longer battery life and a few other functionality improvements. A very decent and dependable recorder that can be cheaply run all day on an externally powered 12V USB battery. This is almost new (cosmetically and functionally) since I typically run mics right into the camera or used my Sound Devices Mixpre-D inbetween. It mostly sat in the closet except when I sometimes needed to run three or four tracks. I'm selling because I had a job that needed timecode so I had to upgrade to a Zoom F4. But the Tascam is better in a few key ways. It has analog limiters whereas the Zoom has digital limiters. The latter is nearly useless since the sound could already be clipped by the time it's converted to digital. I believe that most recorders in this price range and even up to 1K have digital limiters. I'm also throwing in a Camrade mixer bag which runs $160 alone. Asking $475 for everything.
