Tapes question

I just purchased a dvx100b camera with 60 hours on the head, and the previous owner says that he has been using these HD Sony tapes on the camera-

my question is that I have a bunch of lower quality Sony tapes laying around-

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DVM60PRL...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1274486884&sr=1-1

and I'm wondering if
1. changing between the Sony tapes will be a problem for the camera
2. does the HD tapes provide a better quality than the cheaper tapes? because I thought you only need HD tapes for HD cameras.

So should I buy purchase new HD tapes or use my free ones? Thanks for any answers

1) No. But it never hurts to clean the heads of a used camera.

2) No. It's all 1s and 0s and you have them or you don't. The tape is irrelevant to that. The only possible problem is that cheap tape may flake or stretch more easily. But the video quality stored will be exactly the same no matter what.
