Tapes and Sony as deck??

Got my dvx today!yayyyy!

Question though. Will taking my tapes from dvx to Sony handycam(dcr-hc65-using as a deck) cause any problems as far as gunking up heads? Thought I read somewhere Sony uses wet lube and Panny uses dry lube. Do I need to go get a cheap Panny to use as deck?

I know someone knows this, sooo thanks in advance.

You could get your heads properly cleaned on the sony handycam then just stick to using panasonic tapes for both.

It only matters going from tape brand to tape brand, not tape brand to camera brand. The heads aren't different for dry vs wet lube. Its just not good to mix tape brands. So run only whatever you run through your dvx through your sony handycam and you should be fine... on that note though i have a 1ccd panasonic i use to capture from and i run everything through it. Sony, JVC, Panasonic, all sorts of tapes. I personally only use panasonic but i let friends use my comp now and then for school projects and they always have other brands. I've had to clean my heads on that small pany a few times from all the different tapes messing it up, but its such a cheap cam i'm really not worried about it. Jus don't go doing that with your dvx.
