Tape?

I heard for the first time that it is a good idea to Fast Forward a brand new tape all the way and then Rewind it before you use it. Is this a myth? Is it something that everyone does but me? If it is a good idea to do this, what does it accomplish? please let me know. Thanks!

It's an old technique to retension the tape in hopes that it will unspool a little better.

Hmmm....interesting. Do you still do that? or is that totally out dated? I would imagine that DV tapes these days wouldn't have that problem.

that's a VHS thang, don't worry about it, just make sure you use DRY tapes ONLY!!!
no wal-mart/costco tapes.
