tape noise aftr playing in old camcorder?

so i shot about a half hour of footage on my dvx the other day with no indcation of dirty tape heads, or any problems whatsoever. in fact, i had the heads cleaned about 5 tape head-hours ago.

after this, i captured the footage using an old jvc minidv camcorder. it was going fine for a while until it started dropping frames about 15 mins in.

now, i've tried to capture the footage using a minidv deck and it appears ALL of the footage has choppy, artifact-ridden playback.

is it possible that the older camera "tainted" my tape?

I guess its possible if your old jvc has very dirty heads...! If even a tiny piece of garbage from the dirty heads stuck to tour tape could do the bad...but thats just my guess...never seen it happening...Anyway have you tried already to play back the tape again on your dvx? How does it look?
