Hi Everyone, Quick question...
What is the best Tape Media I can use with the HVX and where should I get it if its online, or here in Los Angeles if you know somewhere close to me. I am covering a concert and they want me to shoot standard def on tape. I have never done that with the camera before so im not sure what settings to set on the camera anyway. Any help , including most importantly tapestock recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part, tape is tape. I'm sure I'll start a flame war with that, but I've seen drops on Sony, Panasonic, and JVC tapes. Whatever you pick, stick with it, the biggest problems seem to come from mixing tape types.
If you've got the p2 cards, you should consider shooting DVCPro50, the footage will look much nicer and you can output to whatever format they'd like.

I agree with profU. If you have the P2 cards it would be a lot better to shot dvcpro50 on the cards and then output to whatever the client needs.
 
just do not mix tape types, as ProfU said. Differnt OEMs use different lubricants, and they are not necessarily chemically compatible, so you don't want to use your camera as the mixing bowl.
