Tape measuring for the DVX

In order to double check what the peaking feature tells me regarding exact focus (say, on talent's eyes), I find it useful to tape measure the distance.

However, I'm confused as to where exactly on the camera's body the measurement ought to be taken. In a movie camera, the image forms on the film, behind the gate, and there is a marking on the outside of the camera. On the DVX, the image forms on the surface of the CCDs, but where is that located precisely ? At the point where the lens barrel joins the body ? Further back ?

Any info on that will be greatly appreciated. Tks a lot in advance !

I thought that I had read somewhere that the back of the hotshoe might mark the film plane.

Ooops ! Sorry ! I meant "Tape", of course... Really should take off those boxing gloves fore I start typing...

Tigeba, thank you for this first answer... Let's see if other people have seen the same thing.

Tks Horse Films... Very useful ! I already have the focus chart but I guess I got it from Evin Grant because I never visited Eric Petersen's site... and a very interesting site it is too !
