Just a silly question. I'm planning to buy a minidv cam as a deck for my dvx100. Now the prices for cheap consumer cams are well so much cheaper in the states then here in Australia. So will a ntsc camcorder be able to play back a tape that has a pal signal recorded on it? It obviously wont be recording in pal but will the heads play back a pal signal. My understanding is that its the chips that make the ntsc signal but the playback heads should be able to play back any signal. Its the ntsc monitors that cant read the pal signal to display it right?
