tape cleaning tape..

I have heard to use the tape cleaning tape when changing types of MINIDV tapes. However lately, I have been hearing a lot of talk about Head cleaning tapes are not good for the heads! If they are not good then why does Panasonic include them with the camera? I am sure other cameras come with tape cleaning tapes too.

I have been shooting on PRO tapes but may jump up to Masters soon and I know I will have to use the tape to clean the heads on my camera.
 
Both PQ and MQ are dry so it's not like going from Sony or something. Cleaning is not needed if heads are not dirty in your case. Only clean when needed. The cleaners use abrasives so it is hard on heads but not as bad as it sounds. Just only clean when NEEDED... If the image is clean, leave the cleaning for now...
 
Yea thats what I have been doing. I just want to be prepared if/when I see the red circle with the x in it. I know it would be time to clean the heads!
