Tamron finally makes a piezoelectric lens motor (aka, USM, AF-S, SSM, SDM, SWM, blah, blah, marketing). So we should start seeing these motors in more Tamron Lenses in the future. The photographer in me likes this very much since I find Tamron optics superior to most other 3rd party and even first party lenses but their focussing motors have always been lackluster.
Too bad that piezo motors also cause the lens to loose hard focus stops. Still, great for still shooters.
