I need to take some photos of some clubs, it will be usually low light as club usually are.

Also What If I want to take photos of people dancing in the low light environment?

I have the voigtlander 25 mm f/0.95.

What other lens and or equipment would I need?

Or with what techniques should I shoot inside the club?

Thanks and I'm a total newb so please try to explain the simplest way you can.

if you'r doing photos get yourself a flash, use an auto lens because people would rather dance than wait for you to focus with your 25 and shoot at say f4 to make sure you have a higher hit rate of being in focus. if you'r going no flash your gonna have a hard time capturing people in motion because your shutter speed will be really low and iso very high, so image quality in general will be compromised.

I would recommend using a flash as well as a wider lens and one with auto-focus.

My experience shooting in clubs is that you dont have a lot of room and group shots will be better with a wider lens. Auto-focus means you can safely capture the moments when you cant control the entire environment. (getting people to stand still at a party is often tough)

flash is definitely a must.

The voightlander is great for shooting video in a club environment. I've been able to shoot under ISO1000 wide open but it requires really careful focus pulling.

I've used the Olympus 12mm 2.0 a few times and I've been happy with the results. With its ability to go manual its useful for switching to capture video with more control although its much harder to pull focus on the tiny focus ring.

does the Panny 7-14mm also has autofocus? is it wide enough?

or maybe trying with the olympus 9-18?

what do you guys think?

7-14 is slow at f4 if you are not using flash, your better off getting the 14 2.5. the 9-18 will give you a better range. the 20 f1.7 is an option although it might go spastic when hunting in low light. Im not a fan of going super wide on all shots but thats just me. i have shot stuff with the kit 14-140 with flash with great results.

Most club shots are shot wide with a slow synch TTL flash. Photography forums are the place to go to for advice. Find the Canon forums for help.

I agree with @MR Fanny, the 7-14 is super wide but slow at f4. Also the 9-18 is a good range for club style shooting but I would save for the 12-35mm f2.8 to give you the range while still pretty fast.

TTL flash is Through The Lens flash. The camera adjusts the strength of flash to the focus distance so you can move quickly without thinking about proper flash strength. You need a TTL flash made for your camera.
