Here are some BTS and screen shots to a pilot I'm directing up in Westchester NY. We have a few more days left to shoot and then post work.
So far this has been going great. I did the scheduling also and I guess from all the years of shooting my scheduling skills have gotten good. We have been finishing before schedule most days and getting everything we need. The actors have been great. I have been letting them rock what they want at first to see what they were thinking and then tweaking from there. So far, so good with this kind of directing. The only thing i really mention before we start is this is not a Joey Meatballs kind of mob movie. We want it modern day style. No suits, no slick hair and sunglasses... We do have one Cadi in there but hey, you have to have one of those in these kinds of movies
The older guys I let rock that old school look though instead of fighting it. The writers have been receptive to script changes which is a godsend. Some scenes just go too long and need to move along.
