Tablet PCs

Has anyone ever tried Avid on a tablet PC? I know avid claims it's really picky about its OS, but I'm looking at possibly buying a tabletPC and would like to be able to edit on location.

I run AXP 4.6 on a Dell Inspiron 9300, Pentium M 2.00, 2 gigs RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800, 7200rpm Internal drive with no problems at all.

See that's where I get confused. Technically Tablet PCs run on XP Tablet edition. But to Avid is that effectively XP Pro?

That's what I was wondering. I messed with a tablet yesterday at the store and checked the OS and it said XP Media Center Edition... maybe you can install XP Pro on it as well.

Of course you can. It's just a PC with a screen. They used to install XP Tablet PC edition on those, so now that they install MCE, it's quite obvious you can install anything on it. I would even try installing OSX, to be honest. Who needs the stinky windows :)

Well because I love that stinky windows and hate OSX.

OSX also has no pen/tablet functionality, which would completely void the point of buying a tablet PC.

Stick with a full size notebook PC.

I use a tablet PC for school, and it can't do much else (even with a memory upgrade)
