T1i / 500D quick home test

So I borrowed the T1i from a friend for the weekend. It's got some light battle scars (he just got back from Africa), but works perfectly fine. He also gave me his full size lens (17-40). So I decided to check out the video mode and here is the result. All settings on auto, including the obviously bad white balance.

so wait, isn't this the camera that shoots at a strange frame rate? Looks like 30p to me?
 
Yes, it's 720p30. It's the poor man's 5Dmk2, as many like to call it. But my god, if they added Manual Controls, that would be a D90 killer.
