T.V. Show - LOST

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

The thing I both and hate the most about this show is that there is never a cleanly wrapped up ending to any episode. It keeps you wanting more, as it should.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

i didn't read all the pages but i think lost is a great show. when i first heard the premise i didn't think they would survive. then i saw the pilot and was impressed. but i still had doubts on how they would play it out. I'm surprised that it's still going strong. almost every episode is great. love how it's a big ongoing story.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

i do hope someone dies in this season. i don't like it when they pretend people are dead and then it turns out they're not. like what they did with charlie

if someone dies the whole show gets more exciting cause you're never sure if someone is actually in danger.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

Well, there is always the question of whether they are all already dead, or stuck in some "in between" place. Maybe their souls were somehow in the balance, teetering between heaven and hell, and this place is their proving ground for where they will spend eternity. May be why Locke's legs were miraculously healed, and Charlie kicked the habit, and the conniving step-sister/lover got over her asthma.... it seems they all have sins of the past they are trying to work out and make up for.

Cant figure what happened to Claire, though.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

wesley - I've heard that at least one main character is going to die by the end of the season, so it's pretty likely that it will happen. Man, a few episodes ago I thought Charlie was dead for sure, but now I don't have a clue who it's gonna be. Maybe Claire but she seems to important to kill off.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

I love this show.

But has anyone else noticed, during the main title, where LOST is moving towards the screen, the animation on the S has a little error and you can see black through the edges where they meet? It bugs me every time I see it.

RE: T.V. Show - LOST

On the set of LOST - thought you all would appreciate these photos from a future episode. This particular set is for a flashback sequence. I'll refrain from saying which episode exactly in the hopes of keeping some suspense. The same goes for the photos but you may find some incriminating evidence here and there on what's going on...

Here the production is under way. There was an exterior scene earlier but we were unable to shoot photos then. Presently, the house is set for an interior shoot, which is substituting for Los Angeles (the inside looks completely different). The home in the back of this set will serve as Australia via greenscreen and the clever use of set design (although I have to post photos of that later):

In case there was any doubt over which production this is, check out the spray paint work over the sound and grip tents...

Transporting Gold. One of the crew members relocating valuable footage. Scope out the crew shirt:

Car rig mounted to a Hummer from an earlier scene:

Panavision camera, follow focus, matte box (B camera). Sans lens. Beneath are the lenses and other equipment. Click on this here for a closer picture of what that sticker on the camera says.

Photo of the sound cart, located outside of the interior set. The LCD mounted to the right allows the sound department a view into the scene, and to the left is a page from the script, with sound cues underlined of course. If only I could take the equipment home...

I'll post more pictures in the future, hopefully those from the cave scenes.

Why dont you like Kate?

RE: T.V. Show - LOST

Someone asked to see more of the car mounted rig, so here are more photos from LOST.

Here's the interior setting for the home in Australia complete with Hollywood's view of how Australian's decorate their home:

With the green screen waiting to go on the side of the set for those shots that will include windows. The actual window opens out to a brick wall - guess that's not glamorous enough?

This photo below is typical of what happens between setups: crowds gather around the actors for autographs, in this case Jorge Garcia, aka "that one dude" from the very beginning of this thread ;D. He's pretty cool actually.

I thought all the guys liked Kate?

That's what I would have thought, too.

Extremely cool pics, Oz. Love 'em...

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

Mammoth Industries - yeah, i noticed that too. at first i thought it was just my tv being a piece of crap, but then i realized it was like that on every episode. i don't know how something like that could slip through unnoticed unless it just intentionally looks crappy. lol.

Kate is hot. But that only goes so far. She's damned annoying these days . . . self-righteous, controlling, always needing to be at the center of everything. Just a general pain the keester. And a criminal . . . not exactly in a position to be looking down her nose at anyone else's moral failings.

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

Yeah, I thought they might fix the "s" glitch for the 2nd season, but i guess not. You'd think with such a big production they could get a simple animation to look right.

I heard that there are a lot of hidden meanings within the show, like all the characters' names are special somehow, maybe this is just another one....
? ? ?

Re: T.V. Show - LOST

Well, John Locke was a social philosopher associated with the "state of nature" existence of man.  "Jack" was major character from Lord of the Flies.  "Kate" was Shakespeare's Shrew.  Rousseau (the lady) and Rousseau the philosopher are no doubt connected.
