Clip 1 Format: 1080i 50 25fps
FCP Sequence: 1080i 50 25fps
Audio Sync: Perfect

Clip 2 Format: 720p 50 50fps
FCP Sequence: 720p 50 50fps
Audio Sync: Perfect

Clip 3 Format: 720p 50 25fps
FCP Sequence: 720p 50 25fps
Audio Sync: Terrible - and drifting further out.

Apart from a visit to the Sony Dealer (yes - SONY dealer) first thing on Monday morning, does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm at a complete loss with this. I've trashed prefs, even done a complete fresh reinstall of my Mac system to no avail.

The clips all play perfectly in the FCP Log and Transfer window - and if I dub to tape "in camera" the resulting Standard Def DV footage is in perfect sync.

I wouldn't be too quick to blame Apple or Panasonic for this. It sounds like there is something amiss in your sequence settings. An obvious question: What are your audio settings in the FCP sequence for the third clip and do they match the settings at which you recorded the audio?

Thanks for your response, kwoff.
I'm not blaming anyone because I don't know who's to blame but if it's not resolved by tomorrow (Monday) morning, I'm going to go for a completely different setup and camera. We have a shoot that's ground to a halt because of this issue. The shoot won't wait, so I have to act.

Sequence Audio: 48kHz 16 bit
Clip Audio: 48kHz 16 bit Integer

Apple's support for the HVX200 has been less than enthusiastic in Europe and the Far East (PAL regions). My hunch is that they take Sony far more seriously, so I feel I don't have much choice if I cant get the Panny to work.
