Syncing 29.97 sound to 24 picture???

Hello all -
We shot on 24fps, and (unbenounced to us) our mixer was recording 30 fps. For reasons that we have not yet to begun to fathom none of our mixed audio went to the camera to be recorded onto the P2, so I'm going to have to sync it in Avid Media Composer... Anybody have any ideas how I can sync this in Avid?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks.
Cheers,

need more information. if a smart late was used, just match up the visible timecode with the audio's timecode. if there's no smart slate all you can do is line up the clapper. if there's no clap, i wouldn't want to be the guy in charge of eyeballing sync for all those takes.

There is a smart slate, but how do I find the timecode on the audio files to match it up with the visual??? Is there any automated way that the avid can do this for me (please, please say yes)? And if I have to match it with the clap, how do I permanently link the sound to the picture?

Thanks again,

when you have an audio clip loaded in the source monitor, do you see the numbers above the top right corner of the window? that's your timecode.

as for how to merge them, you should have an Avid manual, so look up "autosyncing clips".
