Sync two cameras

I want to sync two cameras (100 & 100a) with something that can generate timecode for a match in post. Is there an easy way or some type of 'box' that can do this? Will a smartslate do this? I don't want to have to rely on a slate at the beginning of the tape and risk someone stop recording and start again later. I am shooting interviews and want to be able to use multicam function in FCP.
