It was my understanding that the Sony BC-U2 charger is compatible with the Switronix EX-L96 batteries. However, today I attempted to charge a pair of relatively new L96's on the aforementioned charger—after unplugging the battery's DC cables—and noted that the charge light on the BC-U2 rapidly alternated between orange and green which, accordingly to the accompanying Sony manual, represents a fault of some kind. Has anyone had a similar experience and or ultimate solution?

You must plug the battery's dc plug into itself, then put it on charger.
