Switching from TDK- MQ or PQ tapes.

I have come to the realization that buying the cheapo TDk tapes is really a crappy thing to do for my camera, so I am going to buy some MQ tapes. I have a shoot coming up this weekend that I would like to roll MQ tape at. My question is (and I know this is a dead/overly asked question, I found related threads on it, but somehow couldn't find the answer I was looking for) if I run a cleaning tape through my camera, and then use the MQ's, do you think I will be ok? I plan on getting the camera professionally cleaned, but for now do you think I could get away with it? Is it possible that the TDK's have done irreversible/irreplacable damage to my camera? And what is the going cost (approx) on getting the cam heads professionally cleaned?

And the myth goes on....and on......and on......

No.

Re: Switching from TDK- MQ or PQ tapes.

you should be fine. Just run the cleaning tape for the time it says on the casette.

Re: Switching from TDK- MQ or PQ tapes.

No the TDK's will not have done irreversible damage to your camera. (maybe to your FOOTAGE, but that's only if you got hit by dropouts when using them).

Clean the heads, use MQ's, you should be fine.
