Switching from mono to stereo

There is not a setting on the DVX100 for stereo recording. A stereo recording is two channels of audio, one left and one right.

If you're using the onboard mics, just make sure int(L) and int(R) are selected. When you're mixing the audio, pan channel 1 to the Left and channel 2 to the right. Some people prefer panning all the way to the left and all the way to the right. Others prefer settings closer to 9:00 and 3:00. Panning is dependent on the situation and personal preference.

If you're only recording with one microphone, you cannot get a stereo effect without additional processing in post. There are audio tools that you can use to try and give a mono track a stereo feel, reverb being the primary one. A small amount of stereo reverb on a mono track can give the illusion of a wider space.

There are other signal processors which can make a mono track sound stereo but these involve phase shifting and filtering. Quite often the end result is one of the audio being smeared. Usually these types of processors are used sparingly on only one or two instruments in a mix.
