Switching brands when capturing?

Hi guys!

I have been using a Panasonic pv dv 103 to capture the tapes that I record on the DVX- I use MQ's.

My question is would it be bad to capture some JVC tapes in the pv dv 103?

My guess is that it could be a risk. This tends to be a very nebulous and nonscientific debate.

If you can afford to have the unit serviced, in the relatively rare event that something should happen, then go for it. It's probably a small risk.

Don't try it with the DVX100 though.....not worth it.
