Switched from FCP--Need Equivalant of "Export: Self-Contained Movie" from Timeline
Wondered if anyone could help me on this one. I recently switched from FCP/Mac to PProCS5.5/Win7 and one thing I can't seem to find an easy answer on is a simple export process.
Very often I used to export a clip either from the viewer or timeline in FCP doing a "Export: Movie: Make Movie Self-Contained", which technically doesn't recompress anything. I often did this with ProRes material in FCP7.
I am using CineForm with CS5.5 and I can't seem to find the equivalent function. When I do a simple export of a clip (say, to trim down a huge clip to export for external fx work) by going "File/Export/Media" and then checking the "Match Sequence Settings". The export is usually fast, but I can often see what looks like a degradation of the image: aliasing on fine lines, etc. Like it did some kind of interlace field remixing when I was simply working in a 1080 23.976p sequence, with progressive rendering checked.
Bottom line is it seems like if there were no alterations made to the clip, that I shouldn't see a visible difference between the original and a re-exported version. (with matching sequence settings)
Can anyone help? Thanks for any replies.
