I am a Sony convert and have never seen a battery with that little switch on the back. Does anyone know what it is for?
Of course the manual makes no mention.

This has been covered many times in DVXuser.com so a quick search would have answered your question. The switch is extremely basic and it allows you to know whether the battery has been used or not...When it runs out switch the switch on the back of the battery and that way you know to recharge it or not to use it again...
Ah Kyle's no fun. He was supposed to tell you that it'll make your camera explode if you leave it in the up position. This is kinda like the "what's that noise coming from my camera's when it's off" type post where we get to initiate the newcomers J, I wouldn't take any offense, it's just that it gets asked a lot.
