Hi. When I'm editing with FCP I would like switch off EVF and LCD screen at the same time (VTR mode) because I use the panny for take off the signal to a external monitor (and firewire to MAC).
Thanks a lot. :)

Re: Switch off EVF

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. Do you want to turn off the EVF and the LCD screen at the same time. I don't think that's possible. Why do you want to do that?

Re: Switch off EVF

Thanks for the attention :) . While I'm editing I don't need view anything on the evf, I suppose it will be better for the duration (life) of the evf. I'm only use the panny like passtrough.
Sorry for my english. I promise study more. ;D

Re: Switch off EVF

I don't think there is a way to turn off the evf while the camera is on. I really don't think you need to worry to much about the evf wearing out, as it will probably last a lot longer than most things on the camera. At least a good 10 years.
You could also get a cheap camcorder, with passthrough on ebay and save yourself some trouble that way.

Re: Switch off EVF

I agree with Stefan.  Do not use your $3500 camera as a passthru device if at all possible. Try a $300 camcorder if a DV deck is not available.

That would be my advice,
