Switch from DVX100B?

On my last production, I used 3 DVX100B's to create the first ever TRUE kosher cooking DVD. Now that this DVD was successful, I want to make a new DVD with new recipes etc, but i'm ready to BUY instead of rent. Since my final product will be on DVD (and in SD form) does it help (at all) to be using an HD camera? Should I be using an HD camera in SD format if i want higher quality videos?

Down rezzed HD to me gives a cleaner look in SD, less noisy than the DVX image, say down rezzed 720p HVX footage will look better than the native DVX footage in SD, plus it is allready 16:9 from the HVX... If oyu are buying I would strongly reccomend HD, if you cn afford it, but as it seems you allready are pleased with the DVX, so you can easaly stay there. The EX1 would be on the top of my list if you can shell out that kind of cash, 1080p down rezzed to SD would look great, plus the 1/2'' sensors are great in lowlight. Plus when everything goes blu-ray, you will still be on top of the game!

I'd go HVX ... personally I don't see a difference between native SD footage and downrezzed HD. BUT ... the duplication house I use currently does Blu-Ray DVDs for $2,000 master plus $2/disc, and they tell me those prices will be coming down dramatically in about 3 months.

So, even though I have no method of HD delivery for now, we're shooting in HD and saving the footage so we can start offering Blu-Ray disc in a few months. If you do the same you'll really have a nice competitive edge as Blu-Ray has won the format war and will now start getting snatched up by consumers.
