A lot to dish out on ebay for me. A friend of mine once bought the 17" powerbook on ebay for $2800 and never received it. SO he ended up having to buy one at the local shop so all in all he paid double for it. I ordered my 5d mk3 a few months ago through Best Buy for $3299 and it was delivered to my front door. Received $75 back from awards points.

He didn't use PayPal or claim the money back from eBay's buyer protection?? I will buy anything off eBay, doesn't matter the price or anything, you can't successfully scam someone on eBay, because all you do is report it and eBay will turn on the burners and fry the mongrel.

I've had a few incidents where people thought they would be real coy and try and scam me, didn't work, got all my money back and a massive smile on my face for destroying there little plan.

There's quite a lot of good deals from authorized resellers for bundles. You just have to look. A lot of them are getting around the minimum canon pricing by selling them on ebay - big companies like adorama, etc. For the most part the price is settling in around $2500-2900 for the camera body after you dump the bundle extras.

Same here. Ive bought lots of stuff on ebay and never had a problem, so many safe guards are in place to prevent scammers.

Lots of retail stores like to say it is "grey market", I like to say "not paying for commission market"
