About a year and a half ago I made a short film called Surreality. The movie was incredibly well recieved on the DVXUser Board and Vimeo as well. Then I got an Agent who told me I had to remove the movie from the internet because she had plans to distribute it to her various "contacts". Long story short, the agent was an idiot and she wasted a lot of my time. I am no longer represented by her so now I can put Surreality back on the internet for all the world to see.
The movie was shot entirely with the Nikon D80 camera using a variety of animation techniques such as Pixelation, Stop-Motion, Timelapse, Colorformation and more!
The story centers around the main character's unceasing quest to find pancakes for his breakfast.
Without further ado, here's Surreality!
Surreality Channel on Vimeo
Also available on the Surreality channel on Vimeo you will find 10 How-To videos that explain each of the animation techniques used in the film, as well as a "Visual Commentary" feature that utilizes a telestrator to allow me to draw on the screen and break down each scene visually.
I hope the movie is enjoyed and the tutorials are educating. Feel free to post comments or questions on Vimeo.
